He has earned additional success in the Florida with several semi pro teams such as Tampa Bay Marauders and Greater Tampa Bay FC.

During the course of his playing career Ruiz has coached the game at the same time with top youth clubs around the Tampa Bay Area such as Rangers, Greater Tampa Bay FC, West Florida Flames, Tampa Bay United and now working with West Pasco.

Through his company Futboland Academy LLC, Chris is focused on helping players improve their game mentally, technically, tactically, and physically whether it be through personal training (individual or group training), camps, or even taking a group of players overseas to Spain or England for the opportunity to be seen or signed by lower division Pro academy teams.

Born and raised in California, Chris became a student of the game at the age of 3. Then moved to Florida at the age of 15 where he was exposed to a higher level of play. Graduated from Gaither and right after high school went overseas to play for Estudiantes de la plata reserves. From there went on playing in Colombia for Santa Fe segunda B reserves and was then signed to Deportivo Teculutan 1st división in Guatemala. After 2 season in Guatemala Ruiz came back to the states to play in the USA chivas reserves. He eventually came back to play in Florida in several semi pro teams such as Tampa bay Marauders and Greater Tampa Bay FC. Ruiz was then invited to play with a Pro tour 3 division team in Spain Iberos CF and was fortunate to play against world class competition such as Leyton Orient (England 4th division team), Malaga (Spain 1st division), Loja CD(Spain 3rd division team), and Real Jaén (Spain 2nd division).

During the course of his playing career Ruiz has coached the game at the same time with top youth clubs around the Tampa Bay Area such as Rangers, Greater Tampa Bay Fc, West Florida Flames, Tampa Bay United and now working with West Pasco.

Ruiz also has built a company Futboland Academy LLC with the objective to help players improve their game mentally, technically, tactically, and physically whether it be through personal training (individual or group training), camps, or even taking a group of players overseas to Spain or England for the opportunity to be seen or signed by lower division Pro academy teams. He hopes to grow his company and be able to showcase the raw talent that Tampa has to offer to the world and fulfill the dreams of young players that aspire to play at the highest level.
